Women in history, but not in literature

I stumbled upon Bernard Cornwell’s discussion page and was immediately intrigued by the last post, which was 2 years ago. I didn’t join the group, but I appreciated the commenter’s discussion about the lack of women heroes in literature. I assume the writer was a female due to its content and stance, but also from her monikerĀ ‘mossflower’. She gave very detailed examples of women throughout history. Some have graced pages in literary gems (and fool’s gold), but some I have heard of only in my research. IĀ  must say that I have been working on rectifying some of this as my protagonists are all heroes, but are not necessarily the one of history. Intrigued? Good.

Thanks mossflower.
